I interviewed Jessica Folds about her experience with research papers. Jessica is a senior here and West Georgia and is a Business Management major. I asked her what her favorite research paper was about and she said she hadn't done many, but her favorite was a paper about sexual harassment in the workplace. She told me that this occurs much more than people think. I also asked what types of sources she consulted during her few research papers that she had. She told me her teacher mainly wanted them to use media sources such as newspaper or magazine articles. I was surprised that she had not done many research papers through out her college career and that they mainly were assigned group projects.

That is surprising that she has not dont many research papers but i do agree that newspapers and magazines are good sources but some are better then others. Going to the library and looking up books and journals is much more helpful and is what teachers are looking for. Make sure your sources are academic and credible! Good Luck on you research topic!
ReplyDeleteWhere did she look to find the articles? Did she just use google or did she use library resources?
ReplyDeleteLike Kayla, I'm surprised that she has made it to be a senior without having done many research papers. Though, I'm not surprised by the group projects - learning to work together and learn from your classmates is important, since you'll need to work in teams and learn from your colleagues in many careers. But I would have expected the groups to be doing research projects!
Im surprised also that she has not done many research projects. It seems like the higher level you get the more harder your project gets. Also, that's when you have to put in more time to make sure everything is accurate. I am also surprised that she didn't have to use and library databases to get her sources from!
ReplyDeleteshe said she used a lot of articles from Galileo.
